Please note that our permission to conduct a public collection of money has expired. Right now we are working on extending the period. We will send out a press release when it is possible to donate through the website again.

For the actual transfer of money from your account, you will need to visit the donation page. The order in which you complete these tasks is of no importance.

Why should I make a donation?
The Save Middles organisation has already forwarded some questions concerning the introduction to a debate published by the Viborg County Council. These questions and remarks will be taken in to consideration in a survey that Viborg County is to conduct before making any further development with their plans. It is Viborg County and Hanstholm borough that owns Hanstholm harbour.

How do we intend to spend the in the future?
The organisation has no employees and no turnover. Some expenses are to be accounted for if we are to achieve what we have set out to accomplish. The following activities have been completed this fall:

  1. The organisation has designed a homepage where everyone with a particular interest in this matter can keep up to date. Furthermore all necessary information on the organisation is also available here. 
  2. The organisation has made a contact with the engineering company NIRAS. NIRAS has made two alternative suggestions and proposals for a way of developing the Hanstholm Harbour in a way that also in the future will include kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing at the Middles.
  3. The organisation has during the fall of 2005 arranged meetings with all interested parties. We are now in a situation where no one doubts the uniqueness of Middles in relation to surfing. Several leading local politicians are now positive towards surfing and the idea to make an alternative and fare more sustainable plan for the area. The same goes for local tourist businesses and non-surfing local people.     

The organisation intends to continue spreading information through a campaign specifically targeted towards politicians and leading tradesmen, as well as the media and the local people in the Hanstholm area and the rest of Denmark. The goal is still to throw light on:

  • Windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing and the importance these activities have for recreation and sports in the Hanstholm borough, Denmark and the rest of Europe.
  • Possible sustainable regional development that includes windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing in the area east of the Roshage Pier at Hanstholm Harbour.

The organisations’ rules have been screened by the Danish tax authorities and they have reached the conclusion that the purpose of the organisation is to be considered a common good.
